If you have not practised as a nurse for five or more years and can not demonstrate continuing competence, the Queensland Nursing Council (QNC) may determine that you need to demonstrate competence by completing this program. The Nurse Re-entry (Competence Assessment Service) Program is designed to provide you the knowledge, skills and competence for practice - giving you the confidence you need to return to the modern nursing environment.
Further information about the Nurse Re-entry (Competence Assessment Service) Program can be obtained from the QNC or from the Competence Assessment Service.
Applications for the Nurse Re-entry (Competence Assessment Service) Program need to be directed to the QNC.

Queensland Health offers Nurse Re-entry Scholarships to eligible nurses enrolled in the Nurse Re-entry (Competence Assessment Service) Program. Click here for further informaton.
If you have recently completed the Competence Assessment Service Program and you are registered / enrolled to practise with the QNC, Queensland Health offers a supportive program (including 120 hours of paid supervised clinical practice) to ensure you feel confident returning to the acute nursing environment.
